Who Designed this Killer Website?

My Thoughts On This Design
I would like to start by saying that President Obama’s campaign was one of the best marketing campaigns I have ever seen. It was the first time that a “real” logo was introduced for a presidential candidate and has by far set a new standard in presidential campaign branding.
Well well well, it looks like someone took notes last year and did their homework. McCain’s new look is hot, and what I mean by hot, it is way better than last year. The logo and website is a big improvement. We will just have to see how the campaign marketing will be like in the next presidential election.
In this design, I am not a big fan of the dividing borders in the footer. I would have made it a total width of 2 pixels and dropped the opacity of both lines. However, I do like the simple use of the gradient in the navigation and the light background image in the header. It does not compete with the logo nor takes away from the rest of the site. I don’t know if it is just me, but does the main banner information on the right of the homepage look similar to whitehouse.gov?
Let me know what your thoughts are about this site. Also, if you know who designed this website, let me know. Cheers!

Although I don’t like to get into politics, I must say that this design is fantastic!!! I definitely think that the Obama campaign last year changed the game for political campaigns. It will be interesting to see if other politicians take this approach to their campaigns. Great review!
OVO did the branding for the McCain campaign – http://www.brandsbyovo.com/ & Forty Design & Marketing did the web design – http://www.fortyagency.com/work/project-exposed/john-mccain-2010

A slight point of correction:
In addition to the visual identity, OVO also provided the design for the site. The design was provided as a few “key pages” and overall art direction, then Forty designed and developed the remainder of the site from our direction. Forty was involved in the initial architecture and planning as well.
With regard to some of your critique, I do find that valid. I’d also like to note that “client desire” can play a large role in final outcome.
