WOW! This new color scheme kicks butt. I love the background texture and the flow of the gradients. It gives it a bit of depth, however, now I feel like this site needs more breathing room due to the large dashboard screenshot on the homepage. I also feel that the outer glow on the screenshot is a bit cheesy. But those are minor details. I love this new look. I don’t use Blinksale, but it makes me want to sign up and use it, especially with that beautiful yellow button. I also like the new changes in the app’s UI (user interafce). Keegan’s original design was amazing, but these new tweaks sure do look good too.

Ok first of all this site is beautiful. The colors really glow on this site. When I saw this on CSSMania, it really drew my attention. Most sites that are dark sometimes just have a few pop colors, but this site has the entire color spectrum. Coming from a print design background, this site reminds me of a poster layout. There is a lot of negative-space (whitepsace) and the gutter spaces are all consistent. Designers sometimes don’t think about keeping gutter spaces consistent, they like to go all over the place and never align things up. I am not not talking about beginners, but I have seen designers who have been designing for years and still don’t align things up. It’s one of my biggest pet peeves.

The designer of this site really paid lots of attention to the smallest of details. I like the little dashes above the color spectrum bar and of course the stitching below it. I also like how the designer kept the gradient on the pie chart very subtle. I am not a fan of harsh gradients and of course when a designer uses strong shadows. I like my shadows to be very light and subtle.  Also notice how the designer did not go crazy using many fonts on this site. If I can still count, I think I see 3 different fonts. He used a slab serif for the main title, a serif italic for subtiltes and complimented with sans-serif for the content. This design was well thought out. Oh I almost forgot to say that the button on the bottom is sexy.

I really can go on and on about this site. Enough of me talking, go check it out.

This site is killer. First of all, I love the design of the websites popping out of the site. Perfect shadows were used and it is not an overkill. Secondly, I love the vertical lines in the background with a soft touch of the noise filter. It brings an element of elegance into the picture.

No, but on a serious note, I love the background design. I also like the simplicity of the site where everything is spaced out and not squeezed in. I hate it when websites don’t have room to breathe. It makes me feel claustrophobic.

I would like to start by saying that President Obama’s campaign was one of the best marketing campaigns I have ever seen. It was the first time that a “real” logo was introduced for a presidential candidate and has by far set a new standard in presidential campaign branding.

Well well well, it looks like someone took notes last year and did their homework. McCain’s new look is hot, and what I mean by hot, it is way better than last year. The logo and website is a big improvement. We will just have to see how the campaign marketing will be like in the next presidential election.

In this design, I am not a big fan of the dividing borders in the footer. I would have made it a total width of 2 pixels and dropped the opacity of both lines. However, I do like the simple use of the gradient in the navigation and the light background image in the header. It does not compete with the logo nor takes away from the rest of the site. I don’t know if it is just me, but does the main banner information on the right of the homepage look similar to whitehouse.gov?

This site is pretty cool. I love the wood background and the print style layout. I also like the fonts that Denise chose for the headlines because it gives the site a vintage western feel. Great Job.

I love the design of this website. It is simple and clean. The designer took print style elements such as borders, spacing, dividers, and typography into consideration. I also like the white borders around the images. Great job!

When using wood as an element in the background of a website, most designers like to add a lot of contrast which then becomes an overkill. In this case, Henry did a perfect job balancing contrast and simplicity. I also like the big title on the homepage letting me know, as a user, what Henry does. Henry Jones is a designer living in Kingsport, Tennessee with over seven years of experience in web and 3D animation design.

I found this site as I was reading the article The Principle of Contrast in Web Design on Web Design Ledger. As I scrolled threw the article, a screenshot with a big HELLO behind the featured content caught my attention. As I clicked and looked further into the design, I noticed a lot of amazing cool details: the light silhouette in the background, the use of Gotham (my favorite font) and the stamp logo in the header. I have to admit that I love the color theme chosen for this site. It makes the entire site simple and clean. I also like how the site has big headers.

The  guys at Imaginaria Creative are not only amazing designers, but they are also located around the corner from me. Someday I am going to have to sit and have a couple of brews with them.

Love the launch page. The smooth texture in the background and the shadowing from the colorful bar at the top. I also like the simple call to action email sign up. I am not quite fond of the white dots, but I sure do like the font of the logo and the debossed look of the content. I can’t wait for this site to launch.
