I am not a big fan of flash websites but when I saw this site, I couldn’t stop looking at it. The design elements on this site are amazing. For instance, the background texture fits perfect with the type of site it is. I also love how the environment is dark, cold and kind of scary. This totally fits the style of a UFC Fighter. I also like the post editing on the photos of the fighters. It make it look sharp and fresh. Good contrast on photography is important because it draws the attention of the user.

Okay this site is not the best design ever, but I LOVE the big D in the header. I also like the layout and the typography of the main navigation. I believe when designers use print standards on a website, it has to be done right and the guys over at D Magazine did just that.

Happy Cog does it again! This site is amazing because of the choice of background. I like the typography and the borders used throughout the site and the way the sponsors are displayed before the footer. Great job Happy Cog.

iTunes Movie Trailers #1

The iTunes Movie Trailers concept is amazing. I love how most trailers have their own designed trailer website. It allows Apple to be consistent in design elements across all their movie websites. The simple button on the top left with a slight gradient, the round corners on the bottom sections and the use of 2 pixel borders that separate the titles from the content. The designers at Apple always do a great job at UI (User Interface).

I like how this site is simple and very clean. I like the pixelated shadows and the icons throughout the site. The one thing I do not like is that when someone hovers over the Login or the Register in the orange bar, the hidden divs that appear do not hide when you hover away from the section. Other than that, I like everything else about the website.

I love the grey and the rounded corners. I also like the spacing between each section. I am the type of designer who looks for consistency in spacing between sections or plane open space. The only thing I am not 100% about is the navigation. I believe it could have been a little better. The font in the middle below the big image needs more kerning.

I love the visual concept and the colors of the website. I also loved the movie. If you haven’t seen it, watch it! but beware, it could be a little graphic for some people.
